Born in Hong Kong in 1968, Leung graduated with a BA in fine arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1990.
In 1995, he went back to study in the Chinese University. In 1996, he co-founded Para/Site Art Space in Hong Kong.
Having earned his MFA in 1997, he has also been granted a fellowship from the Asian Cultural Council for him to reside in New York City from 1999 to 2000.
In 2001, he represented Hong Kong for the first time in Venice Biennale. Currently he lives and works in Hong Kong.

Fascinating to hear how Leung Chi Wo encourages us to question by making artworks which may be one thing but which may also be something else. It is particuly intriguing how he used the street name Possession Street named by the colonials who took "'possession" of Hong Kong. Is a possession ever really owned?
